Hi,

A quick question that I haven't find an answer anywhere on the messageboard...

I have a lot of videos I took with my camera and I put them in my iPhoto library. When I'm using iPhoto, I can read those videos, iPhoto opens Quicktime and it plays the video.

But in Plex, I can only see the first image of the video and I can not play it... Is there a way to do so?

I just bought an LG 50pg30fd. I have it hooked up to my mac mini for a HTPC... I love plex!I'd been using it with my old 42" samsung without a hitch.

Anyway, I cant seem to find the right resolution to use with the new LG. I'm connecting via a computer video cable.

The issues are obviously within Plex as the menu screens are 'squashed' and not quite formatted properly. The TV is full HD 1090p and all of the jazz... I thought it would be more simple than this?!

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

I cant add a source for my iTunes videos.

im doing

plex://localhost/video/iTunes

but says it cant connect. I was able to do

plex://localhost/music/iTunes

but video does not work.

Im using the same localhost name when adding my music. Btw, where can I find the name/address of my computer again?

What are the controls when viewing photos in iPhoto and listening to music in iTunes through Plex.

When viewing pictures full screen, is there a button on the keyboard to switch to the next photo?

When listening to music, I figure p is play and/or pause. How about stop? and get out of listening to music, when escaping back to title screen, the music window is still up

For the life of me, I cannot get the scrapers to work or the files I have to show up in library mode. The videos I mapped to by adding a source are all .m4v files. They (folder and file name) are all named with proper imdb names. What am I missing? Also, how do I get the movies to show up in movie section and tv shows to show up in that section?

Hi.
A little while ago I noticed that my Videos section was missing on the Plex start page.
I have no idea how it got missing (even though I suspect my 3 year old going bonkers with the harmony remote) and all my attempts to get it back has lead me to nowhere.

Please let me know if you have a solution to this.

I am a newby on the block and I have a full Applebased network @ home and my networkdrives are USB drives behind an Airport Extreme, now I want to configure Plex to go get the movies there. But I could not find how to set that up.

I tried many SMB combinations etc... but nothing worked.

I am very sure some one on the forum has something similar.

Airport name : Airportextreme-1
Drive name : Networkdrive-1
Directory : Films
Wireless 802.11n : 300mbs

Any hints are welcomed !!

hello all

when i have a hebrew subtitle file in the same folder of the video file with the same name, i see it when i play it in plex but in gibberish.
i tried to change the font and in changed the subtitles to a different gibberish so does anyone knows if any of the subtitle fonts will work for me?
or there is a different way you know of i can use?

I reaaly want to use PLEX as my media center but one big problem that i've found is the subtitle. It's error for Thai subtitle. It may about the setting. But i don't know how because i'm very new for this program. Anyone please help me. I already choosed "Browse for subtitle" but all the appearing is a box/symbol that not the readable letter. I use "ssa" and "srt". Or it may not about the setting, it may about the subtitle encoding error. So please advice me how.

I have done a bit of a search without much luck.

I have 3 Mac Mini's. I was just wondering whether it would be possible to clone the exact files and settings from one Mac Mini onto the other.

It would save me a lot of time, since I have added the source and manually edited some file information. Otherwise, I may have to do this 3 times.

Surely, Plex just looks at one or two folders and it is just a matter of overwriting the older files.

Currently, subtitles are displayed by simply overlaying the characters on the video, and there is no way to guarantee proper contrast, regardless of the color selected for displaying the text.

If shading is added behind the subtitles, a built-in contrast can be built-in to the display of subtitles without obscuring the visuals much more than the text currently does. (VLC does this with subtitles from 'srt' files; at least the mac version does.)

I am in the process of setting up several Plex systems in my home (mac mini on my main home theater, an iMac in the kitchen/living room, and now working on another mini for the TV in the Master BR), and my wife is loving it. Within moments of the second system being set up, she asked "is there a way to start watching a video on one system, and then pickup and continue on the other system?" She pointed out that if you stop watching a video part way through, the next time you come back to it, you have to decide to resume or start back at the beginning.

I know this has been asked before, but I can't find it using Search...

Every once in a while, I'll have a video file that has three light-colored bars at the bottom of the video, probably 1/10th the height of the video. The bars are translucent, and appear to mirror the image from the top of the screen...

Any idea what causes this and how to get rid of it? For this particular video, the bars don't show up in VLC, but do in Plex.

I have a strange issue with my MacMini (early 2009) running OSX 10.5.8 and Plex, EyeTV, Remotebuddy & itunes.

Whenever the mini wakes up to do a scheduled eyetv recording, he immediatly goes back to sleep.
Similar thing happens when i wake him up via pressing a button on the remote: wakes up - does to sleep and when i wake up again by pressing a button it stays awake.

Consol log looks like this (filtered by "wake"):

A couple TV shows of mine are not showing posters and/or episode thumbnails, even though they are available on TheTVDB. I've tried manual rescans, manual thumb browsing (shows nothing), and deleting/re-adding shows to the library.

Example: the new TV show Community won't show any posters/banners in Plex, and many current or recent season TV shows aren't showing episode thumbnails (No Reservations, The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Office, etc.)

How can I fix this?
